why do you think Oliver was frightened of sleeping in the room with the coffins

Oliver is and shown to his sleeping space beneath the counter among the coffins. This is creepy! I think most children and adults would be scared of this.

Oliver was scared of sleeping in between the coffins because a very bad smell was coming and an unfinished coffin in between the shop was so gloomy and death-like that every time he saw it he trembled
