One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

Are there any examples of rules in this novel that actually are for a person’s (or a patient’s) own good?

i dont think there is

How about "no sharp objects" for patients. Old Rawler commits suicide with a sharp object (possibly not meaning to kill himself, but doing so none-the-less).
