Importance of the unborn child of Oronooko and Imoinda in the novel Oronooko by Aphra Behn?

I see the both the unborn child and Imoinda as a symbol of sacrifice and power. It is the ultimate and final stage of the Master/Slave relationship............ the struggle for life and death. Many people see Oronooko's murder of his pregnant wife as a form of jealousy (think Othello). In murdering his wife, Oronooko doesn't just establish his role as the all-powerful master, but also comes to understand that through this action has lost a huge part of himself.
