act 1 - scene 3

the turks and ottomites are bound for cyprus. jews, moors, and tartars are strangers by race and religion to the venetians. according to the racist asumptions of venice othello should be more allied to the otomites and turks than the venetian senators. yet othello calls them his good masters. why? line 77

Othello simply wins wars and battles for them. He is a hyper-masculine male who enjoys praise even though he is a "moor".
