Review the conversation between Iago and Roderigo in lines 211-276.
What plan does Iago suggest to convince Roderigo in order to help Roderigo gain Desdemona’s hand?
Iago appeals to Roderigo's obsessive desire for Desdemona to hatch his plan against Othello. Iago convinces the hapless Roderigo that Othello is merely a passing fancy to Desdemona and that, with his help, Desdemona will fall wildly in love with Roderigo. Roderigo actually receives nothing but a disgraced death following his attempt on Cassio's life.
