It took an awful lot of alcohol to bring Cassio to fighting. I think that he would not have fought and acted honorably had he not been primed with drink. Thus, it is not an inaccurate assessment.

I have drunk but one cup tonight,

and that was craftily qualified too,

and behold what innovation it makes here.

I am unfortunate in the infirmity,

and dare not task my weakness with any more.
