c. How does this reaction relate to the attitudes of both Brabantio and the Duke in Act 1?
Both Brabantio and the Duke go after Othello for his love of Desdemona. Even though Othello does great service to the state, he is still a moor and considered unworthy of a white woman like Desdemona. Their judgment is based on ignorance and fear, just as Othello's judgments are based on the same towards Desdemona.
