How does Othello’s physical brutality turn into psychological brutality in this scene?

Othello accuses Desdemona of being a "whore" even though any evidence he has is false and circumstantial at best. He laments that he would rather be Job in the bible, innocent suffering, than having be the target of rumor and inuendo.
