Othello's desire to take credit for Desdemona's murder exposes his fatal flaw..... his pride. Othello's jealousy is unsubstantiated, but he believes the accusations against his wife because they make him look bad. Once again, his pride cannot allow her to take credit for her own death..... it about Othello. He cannot see beyond himself.
