Discuss Emilia's attitude to jealousy

Emilia seems to know better than anyone that Othello os prone to fits of jealousy. When Desdemona laments about the lost handkerchief Emilia says,, "Is he not jealous?" (3.4) After Othello berates Desdemona over the handkerchief, again Emilia says "Is not this man jealous?" (3.4) Emilia goes on like this for awhile until she sums Othello's jealousy up as "It is a monster / Begot upon itself, born on itself." (3.4) Really Emilia thinks that jealousy feeds on itself. It becomes a vicious circle in the mind of the obsessive (like Othello). Emilia is onto something here. The anxiety of jealousy does feed on itself.
