Othello

Explain what the handkerchief symbolizes to Othello, Desdemona, and Iago. Then Choose an object that would represent you and explain why.

For example the number three represents me: I believe in the trinity, I have three children, for the longest time growing up there were only three people in my immediate family.

The handkerchief is a symbol of love and fidelity. Othello's mother had it. He considers this purity of love. By giving it to Desdemona he expects that same purity of love and fidelity. Iago uses the handkerchief to turn fidelity and pure love into betrayal.
