Othello Act III.i-iii.
Othello Act III.i-iii.
Iago knows exactly how to manipulate Othello. He passive-aggressively hints that Desdemona may be a cheater. Iago points out that she betrayed her own father. At first Othello states that Desdemona would never cheat on him. This however is merely a weak defence against his burgeoning doubts about his wife's fidelity. Remember, Othello is a man of absolutes: he absolutely thinks she is an angel, or she is a cheating whore, there is no in-between.
