Desdemona is very open and outgoing; she is cheerful and even plays along when Iago is criticizing the women for the way they tease men. She considers the good in all people; no one, except the envious Iago, has any reason to doubt her love for her husband. However, one of her good qualities - wanting to see the good in others such as Cassio - is ultimately turned against her by Iago.
