Act II, scene 3
Act II, scene 3
At first Iago gets Cassio to drink a bit, knowing that he cannot hold his liquor at all. Iago also tries to get Cassio's feelings about Desdemona, and make her seem tempting to him; but his intentions are innocent and friendly, so this approach fails. Iago's second plan is to get Roderigo all stirred up and challenge the drunken Cassio. This works, getting Cassio in trouble with Othello.
