Why does Melody think the music teacher is so awesome?

When the other children laughed at Melody and her classmates, Mrs. Lovelace made them get up from their seats and stand against the wall. When they complained, she told them, "You have perfectly good bodies and legs that work. Use them..". Melody thought that was awesome.
