Luma came to the USA from Jordan to study. Luma's decision to stay in the United States after college conflicted with what her parents wanted her to do. Disappointed and angry at Luma's decision, her father, a wealthy businessman, cut Luma of from financial support. Being all alone in America with little money was certainly challenging for her. Trying to form a team of "outcasts" to play soccer was also fraught with challenges. Luma was, however, very resilient and achieved what she set out to do.
