Gladwell writes about meritocracies (look it up if you don’t know this term) influenced by advantages some people have over others by virtue of opportunities, education, and coaching. As the income gap in the United States continues to widen, do you think that social mobility, which is an essential part of achieving success, will continue to suffer? Why/why not?

I think it will suffer. Opportunity and success are directly correlated with income disparity. This is a fact and the middle class is shrinking quickly in the United States. Kids that do not have enough to eat and who live in poverty generally do not do well in school. People in poverty worry about their next meal rather than private school or even public school. They generally do not have the luxury of time or money to prepare nutritious meals for their children.
