Describe adult Marjane in one word. Why that word?

I would consider her mature or self-aware. Marjane understands her world and herself much better than at the beginning of the book, She sees how religion and politics are mixed together to cause strife. She sees what it means to be a Muslim female in a patriarchal culture.
