The main idea of the veil is the fact that veils have become obligatory articles of clothing for the girls to wear. They do not understand the reason for the change, to be quite frank.... they don't like them. None-the-less, the veils become a part of the girls' lives, and even articles with which to play. They use them for jump ropes and costumes.... discarding them when they're through. As little girls, they don't understand the reprisals that might occur. At this point, they're strictly a nuisance.
