what is majanes mothers attitude toward americans? why does she have this attitude?

After the Shah retreats to the United States, Satrapi interprets the US as merely greedy for oil. Even though the US may represent some of the Western values that Marjane loves (i.e. freedom, equality), they betray this by providing shelter for the terrible dictatorship of the Shah.
