Why do obstinate and pliable go after christian

Obstinate and Pliable don't understand why Christian would leave home. They pursue him to ask why he's leaving and then attempt to persuade him to return. Christian refuses to go back and asks his neighbors to join him. Obstinate refuses, and Pliable joins Christian on his journey until it proves too difficult. Pliable returns home after they reach Slough of Despond.

Obstinate and Pliable think that Christian is out of his mind and they want him to return to their city.This is the reason behind them going with Christian.
