poet style ,perspectives and conflict
The style of this poem is basically very rhythmic, although Poe does vary the rhythm a bit, especially in the last stanza when he uses the dashes to make the reader stop and think about his connection with Annabel Lee. The narrator tells of a love so beautiful that even the highest angels judge it amazing. The conflict, of course, is that the girl is dead so this poem is told in retrospect as a memory. However, the narrator lets us know that the love that he felt then is ongoing and nearly eternal. The narrator also tells us that another conflict is that she was killed by those forces that were jealous of the love he and Annabel felt for one another.
