Discuss the appropriateness of the title Pride and Prejudice.

It is totally appropriate as every one of the novel's themes revolves around the title. Pride keeps the characters from allowing themselves to follow their hearts, prejudice has to do with the social values and mores of the time period. The theme of love is in conflict with both of the others. It's a perfect title.
