Pride and Prejudice
Is the tone from Mr. Collins letter to Mr. Bennet in Chapter 13 appropriate for the intended audience?
I am refering to the first letter that Mr. Collins sent to Mr. Bennet in chapter 13 of Pride and Prejudice.

Mr. Collins is rather condescending in his letter. He really gets ahead not on his virtues but rather "sucking up" to the rich and elite of society. Mr. Collins's letter has an undertone that seems to say he is doing the Bennets a favour by visiting and considering one of the daughters for marriage.
