Certainly Mr.Darcy must cast off his original prejudices of Elizabeth as "not handsome enough " or wealthy enough for marriage. Elizabeth must get over her initial impression that Mr. Darcy is only arrogant and elitist. I think Elizabeth pegs the pompous Mr. Collins very well in her first impression. He is concerned with himself and his wealth. I think impressions of Mr. Bingley as being spiteful and snobbish are also valid. Somehow the title "First impressions" does not fully delve into the themes of the story. It is both pride and prejudice that define Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy throughout the story. This pride and prejudice is woven into the fabric of Victorian life and society.
