What is your first impression of Mr. Bennett?

Personally, I love Mr. Bennett. He is smart, practical, and real.... a character you can relate to. He loves his daughters, but he is closest to Elizabeth, who like him.... is practical. He is, for the most part, able to ignore his wife's constant whims, demands, and superficial desires.
