Why did Mr.Collins visit Longbourn house?

Mr. Collins is a clergyman employed by the noble Lady Catherine de Bourgh. It becomes pretty apparent that Mr. Collins has come to choose a wife from the many Bennet girls. He, in particular, is sweet on Elizabeth.
