Explain Tom state of mind in chapter 10?

Tom begins to ponder about the unfairness and nature of slavery. He begins to question, "what crime did the uncreated first [slave] commit that the curse of birth was decreed for him?" He further asks, "why is this awful difference made between white and black?"
