Freddy's mother becomes interested in the flower girl after her son knocks her over and ruins the flowers she's selling on the corner. Eliza (the flower girl) makes such a ruckus that Mrs. Eynsford Hill (Freddy's mother) feels obligated to pay for the flowers.
