In what ways does the opening scene of pygmalion reflect comic aspects?

In the first scene, the raining is pouring down, and Freddy is supposed to be hailing a cab in order to keep his mother and sister dry. The problem is that Freddy has no more wish to walk in the rain than the women do, thus he tries everything he can to simply say there are no cabs. There is comedy in Freddy's childishness...... and a comic flare to Freddy's mother's questioning of Eliza as to "how" she knows her son's name (rather appalling :-D).

Next, we have Eliza's reaction to finding out someone is watching her. Too funny, to over the top.
