Mrs. Pearce is Henry's housekeeper. She also serves as a moral compass. Pearce's role in Higgin's home is solid, she is respected, and as such, she feels free to voice her opinions and challenge Higgin's when she deems his actions inappropriate. Mrs. Pearce disapproves of Eliza's presence in the home because she is young and unmarried, she is attempting to protect the girl's reputation, as well as Higgins' reputation.
