Why,in your opinion, does Travis force Eckels to retrieve the steel bullets from the monster's body? Was this a fair demand?

Basically they want to minimize their effect on events in they had caused past since they can affect the future.

Basically they want to minimize their effect on events that they had caused in the past since those events, like the bullets, can affect how the future unfolds.
