If there had been a modern police investigation do you think Maxim would have been arrested and found guilty of Rebecca's murder?

Maxim's clothing and shoes would have been salt-stained and wet in the morning, a servant would have known what time he got home after dinner with Frank and that he'd gone out again.

In a modern day police investigation, authorities would have advanced technology to work with (things are completely different today). So yes, I believe that if Rebecca were murdered today, or even 50 years ago, he husband would have been arrested and made to face charges.

On another note, I can't believe that even after the boat builder notified officials that spikes had been driven into the boat....... the man still got off with nothing. An accidental death........ that wasn't very realistic, but it made a great story.
