Read page 94. What do the kids hope that Uncle Hammer did to Mr. Simms? Do you think they recognize what could happen to their uncle if he harmed Mrs. Simms? Explain.

The children hoped that Uncle Hammer punished Mr. Simms for humiliating mother and Cassie. I think on some level, however, they would understand that hurting Mr. Simms would mean terrible retribution on the whole family.
