Do you think Cassie’s mother gives her good advice about making choices?

I think she does give Cassie very good advice. She tells Cassie to pick and choose her battles wisely, especially when it comes to white people. She tells Cassie to stand up for herself but to always understand there will be a price to pay for challenging the racial status quo.
