What had happened to the trees that used to be on Logan Land?

We are told that a man named Mr. Anderson once came to town from Strawberry and offered to buy the trees from Big Ma. His offer was accompanied by a threat, and Big Ma gave in because she was afraid of what would happen. Mr. Logan was away at the time, and she sent for him. He got home in time to halt the cutting, but not in time to stop the lumbermen from destroying a huge portion of the trees that once stood on Logan land. (Page 89)
