What happened in Mr. Morrisons past that accounts for his attitude toward white injustice? Why do you think he makes himself remember his past instead of trying to put bad memories behind him?

Mr. Morrison's family was brutally murdered by a lynch mob during Reconstruction. He says that the Logans are like family to him..... that they remind him of his own family, and he will not allow history to repeat itself.
