I don't see many similarities between the two; Romeo and Juliet have a real church marriage, whereas Tony and Maria only pretend at marriage and have their ceremony in a bridal shop. Both couples talk about marriage, which would be a similarity, but for Romeo and Juliet it is a serious matter, rather than the flippant games played in West Side Story.
