romeo says this when he first meets juliet, and his immediate fixation upon her appearance upon meeting her shows his shallow attitudes to love. he only approached her, and decided to marry her, for the sake of her beauty. furthermore, comparing her to a dove symbolises her peaceful nature and innocence. he also compares the other women to crows, encouraging competition between women, and dividng them into groups where they can either be beautiful 'doves' or ugly 'crows'. the underlying sense of objectification and mysogony in this comment reinforces romeos lack of sincerity towards women and, perhaps, his lack of authentic affection for juliet.
