In Act 3, why is it important for Juliet and the others to hear Capulet's monologue?

That's when Capulet blows a gasket over Juliet's refusal to marry young Paris. The monologue tells us how Capulet really feels. Juliet is his daughter and his property. Girls belonged to their fathers until they belonged to their husbands. Juliet's refusal of Paris insults Capulet as a man and as a father. We see the tough spot that Juliet and women in general faces during this time. They had very little control over their destinies.
