What are your thoughts and feelings about the Nurse and Friar Lawrence in their capacity as confidants to the young lovers?

I suppose they mean well but were rather inept in their handling of the situation. Instead of helping R & J to tone their passions, Friar and Nurse encouraged them by facilitating plans that could and did go very wrong. As adults they might have steered the teens toward caution instead of facilitating their eventual demise.
