The very first words Romeo utters about Juliet are actually in Act 1 sc 5 : "O, she doth teach the torches to burn bright!" In Act sc 2 Romeo furthers his metaphors to Juliet and light,
But soft! What light through yonder window breaks?
It is the East, and Juliet is the sun!
