I think that Göth is a product of his upbringing. He was no doubt indoctrinated into the Hitler Youth and became a part of the Nazi machine. I think he had mental instability that fed off the hate he was taught to believe. He was obviously torn inside. There might have been some "good" inside him, but it was buried too deep.
