It's been a long time since I have seen the movie. Generally, America was seen as a place where the immigrant or the underdog has a chance of achieving greatness or the American dream. Snatching opportunity in the midst of adversity is what America represents. Seabuiscuit was a longshot to be a great racehorse but fulfilled his destiny.
