Seize the Day?

Maurice Venice and Dr. Tamkin are the two frauds who promote the theme of deception in the novella. Maurice Venice tricked Wilhelm at a very young age and had him dropped out of college to go to Hollywood. Later Wilhelm found out that he had been a fraud all along. Dr. Tamkin is full of sweet talks and keeps advising Wilhelm from a psychologist’s point of view on how he should behave, but at the very end of the day Wilhelm figures out that Tamkin had been tricking him all along and probably none of his stories were true but there is no confirmation given on this matter in the novella. Tamkin runs away with all of Wilhelm money and the profits he must have made from them in the stock market keeping Wilhelm in the dark.
