What is the significance or meaning of this title?

Tom, a boy, is asked to go to town to find a farm worker. Tom encounters a Musician who knows little about farm work but is a professional Cornet player. The Cornet player, Phillip, ends up playing his instrument at night. He doesn't do a lot of farm work but his playing really touches the family.
