what happens to govinda as a result of the kiss during the last scene of the novel?

Govinda fully realizes that Siddhartha has fond enlightenment. After the kiss,Govinda receives as well, thus reuniting him with his friend. Interesting to note that Govinda was described as Siddhartha's shadow, and returns at the end to help 'complete' Siddhartha.
