Did you suspect bad intentions on the part of the “auntie” and “uncle” who escorted Lakshmi? Why do you think Lakshmi herself was not suspicious? What does this show you about her character?

The fact that money has changed hands immediately makes us wary of the characters and their intentions. Lakshmi, however, is young and naive. She has no idea what "work" lies ahead. Aunt and Uncle's appearances are deceiving..... they have the appearance of wealthy patrons..... not the traffickers they are.
