What adjectives would you use to describe the narrator?Does he change in the course of the story? Explain

At the start of the story I would describe the narrated as driven, goal orientated, impatient, and less than compassionate. Toward the end of the story, we do perceive a change, as he takes the time to see his own grief and despair, as similar to the things his brother has experienced. We see him become understanding.
