What is Monseigneur (Darnay) like as an individual, in most cases? What is he like as a class of people in this era of France?

Darnay is essentially a nice guy. He is a French emigrant to England who renounces his French title and inheritance. He rebukes his riches because he does not agree with the huge gap between the French aristocracy and the crushing poverty of most other people in France. He becomes a poor tutor instead.
